"1. The Obama administration was an ally of Iran. The Iranians took advantage of the nuclear deal which they largely wrote themselves, to press their advantage everywhere in the region- Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, while the Obama team blissfully disengaged. The Trump team has been better on the rhetoric, but so far has not done enough to challenge Iran and its growing predatory behavior. As a result, it has been left to Israel to protect its interests (and the West’s). Any supporter of the Iran deal who argued it would produce better Iranian behavior was colossally misguided.
Missile development was not a concern of the western nations negotiating the nuclear deal with Iran. That was a mistake:
The Iranians are bragging about their missile program:
The Obama team misled, but the Iranians are quite candid that there was no breakout time extension for them as a result of the nuclear deal if they want to quickly produce a bomb. This was supposedly the main achievement of the deal for our side- for 10 years or so, it would take Iran a year to develop a bomb, instead of 2-3 months , because so many of their centrifuges were shut down, and existing nuclear fuel was sent overseas. But we allowed Iran to replace old centrifuges with new ones, and the ability to get back to where they were is near immediate:
Iran’s proxy army- Hezbollah, may now have chemical weapons.
